I know a lot of those locations you hung out in. I've enjoyed the city too. And yes....niceness counts, even for edgy New Yorkers who don't trust it at first. You've made me want to get a gig there and go see a game--I sometimes get to do that when I am doing work in a town.

It's well worth it. Make sure you get out of downtown, as the cool stuff, as usual, is happening on the outskirts.
Maybe the city leadership wants the OTHER Kansas City to enjoy the economic prosperity the Missouri one has had for a long time.
